Whether you live in your RV full-time or you only take a few trips every year, being organized makes life on the road easier. With limited storage space, many RVers struggle to stay organized. Make sure everything has a place with these clever RV storage solutions.

Install a New Bed Frame

If space allows, purchase or build a new bed frame that includes storage areas. A platform-style bed usually has cubbies and drawers for keeping your belongings organized. Store shoes, clothing, and blankets beneath the bed to save space elsewhere.

RV Shower Storage Solutions

When you have limited space to bathe, it’s difficult to find room for shampoo, soaps, conditioner, and face wash. To organize bath products, hang a small shower caddy from the showerhead. To keep it stable during travel, use velcro or hooks to secure the caddy to the wall.

Another idea is to use curtain rings with clips to hang body care products from your shower rod. If you have space above your shower, build a shelf or mount a basket to the wall to provide a place for shampoo, washcloths, and razors.

Use Drawer Organizers

Drawers and cabinets can be better organized with storage solutions designed for these spaces. Measure each drawer and shop for organizer trays that fit the space well. Using drawer organizers keeps items from sliding around during travel and gives each item a place to be stored. Your belongings will be easier to find and you’ll make better use of limited space.

RV Storage Solutions: Purchase Multi-Use Items

To make the most of storage in your rig, choose items that have more than one purpose. Mason jars are a great example. These handy containers are great for storing leftovers and bulk foods, holding sewing supplies, managing cotton balls and cotton swabs, and you can also use them as drinking glasses.

Other multi-purpose items include a cutting board that fits over your RV stove burners. This gives you extra food prep space and can double as a serving tray. Olive oil is used for cooking, but it’s also a great moisturizer for your skin and can be used – with a bit of lemon juice – as a polish for wooden furniture.

Be creative with RV storage. Many people choose RVing to live a minimalist lifestyle, so start by getting rid of things you never use and make an effort to keep your living space clean and clutter-free. Good RV storage solutions will help you make the most of life on the road.
